Parsix GNU/Linux 8.10 "Erik" Gets New Test Build, Adds Linux Kernel 4.4.14 LTS

Approximately two months after the release of the first Test build for the upcoming Parsix GNU/Linux 8.10 “Erik” operating system series, the project’s development team has announced today the availability of the second Test build.

Parsix GNU/Linux 8.10 Test 2 has been once again synchronized with the upstream software repositories of the Debian GNU/Linux 8 “Jessie” operating system as of July 2, 2016, and it uses the latest GNOME 3.20 desktop environment with GNOME Shell 3.20.3 user interface. The distribution is now powered by Linux kernel 4.4.14 LTS.

“Our goal is to provide a ready to use and easy to install desktop and laptop optimized operating system based on Debian’s stable branch and the latest stable release of GNOME desktop environment. Users can easily install extra software packages from Parsix APT repositories,” reads today’s announcement.
