Salix Live Xfce 14.2 Beta 2 Released, Supports Booting on 64-bit UEFI Systems

The Salix development team announced the release of the second Beta build of the upcoming Live Edition of the Salix Xfce 14.2 GNU/Linux distribution based on the Slackware 14.2 operating system.

A lot of changes seem to be included in this second Beta milestone of Salix Live Xfce 14.2, which comes hot on the heels of Salix 14.2 Xfce Edition, an installable-only version of the Slackware-based distro. Therefore, Salix Live Xfce 14.2 is here to allow you to use the OS directly from a live, bootable medium, such as USB or CD/DVD disc.

Prominent new features include a brand-new “wait=n” boot parameter for delaying the Live CD, a new install_on_usb.sh script to allow users to install the ISO images on USB flash drives, support for booting on modern, UEFI machines (only the 64-bit ISO), persistent support for USB drives, … (read more)
