GStreamer 1.10 Open Source Multimedia Framework Gets Its First Point Release

On November 17, 2016, the development team behind the powerful, open-source and cross-platform GStreamer multimedia framework announced the availability of the first point release for GStreamer 1.10.

GStreamer 1.10 is the latest stable and most advanced branch of the project, bringing a large number of new features and improvements, among which we can mention Vulkan API support on the next-ge Wayland display server, brand new gst-docs and gst-examples modules, and an experimental new Meson-based build system.

Furthermore, GStreamer 1.10 introduced support for VAAPI (Video Acceleration API) plugins, V4L2 (Video4Linux), Bluetooth, Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) and Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP), along with echo cancellation and audio conversion support and a new parsebin element for automatic unpacking and… (read more)
