Chakra GNU/Linux Gets Linux Kernel 4.5.1, Latest AMDGPU Graphics Driver

The Chakra GNU/Linux distro, a rolling operating system inspired by Arch Linux, has received a major update for the graphics stack, Linux kernel, and other essential core packages.

Therefore, we would like to take this opportunity to inform our Chakra GNU/Linux users that they have received Linux kernel 4.5.1, the first point release of the latest and most advanced kernel branch, which introduces numerous improvements and better hardware support, as well as Linux kernel 3.14.66, for LTS users.

Moreover, the graphics stack has been updated with the Mesa 11.2.1 3D Graphics Library, xf86-video-amdgpu (the open-source AMDGPU graphics driver) 1.1.0 and xf86-video-ati 7.7.0 for Radeon GPUs, xf86-video-intel 2.99.917+544+g8b8c9a3 video driver for integrated Intel graphics cards, and Nvidia 364.16, 340.96, and 304.131 for Nvidia users.
