Ubuntu Touch OTA-11 Delayed by a Week, Work on OTA-12 Should Start Soon

The development cycle of the next major OTA update for Ubuntu Phone and Ubuntu Tablet devices continues at a slow pace, as the Ubuntu Touch devs have just announced that it is not even ready for an RC image.

Łukasz Zemczak informs the Ubuntu Touch community today, May 11, 2016, about the fact that the promised Release Candidate (RC) image for the upcoming OTA-11 software update might be pushed to public testers by the end of the week, but because things are moving so slow, the final release will be delayed by a week.

“OTA-11 still not ready for an rc, but all the required fixes are staged in silos so we might expect to be good for a release candidate spin tomorrow,” said Łukasz Zemczak. “Bad news is all this might also impact the release date, possibly by a week. Well, sometimes issues like this cannot be easily avoided.”
