Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) Final Freeze Now in Effect, It Launches on October 13

A few hours ago, October 6, 2016, Canonical’s Adam Conrad announced that the upcoming Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) operating system has entered the Final Freeze development stage.

Dubbed Yakkety Yak, the Ubuntu 16.10 is the latest release of the popular Linux distribution used by millions of computer users worldwide. Actually, Ubuntu is not only available for desktop, server, and cloud, but also on your smartphone or table mobile device.

The Final Freeze stage is the last step in the development process of the distribution, and it means that only important packages that fix critical bugs will be accepted in the repositories. With this, the development cycle has come to an end, and now Canonical prepares for the final release of Ubuntu 16.10.
