Mageia 6 Linux Distro Reaches RC State, Ships with Linux 4.9 & X.Org Server 1.19

Donald Stewart of the Mageia Linux team announced a few moments ago that the upcoming and long-anticipated Mageia 6 Linux operating reached RC (Release Candidate) state.

That’s right, Mageia 6 Release Candidate is finally here, which means that it won’t be long until the final release of the operating system hits the streets in its production-ready state. This RC version comes two and a half months after the sta 2 milestone, so the development team had quite some time on their hands implementing some of the latest technologies and software versions.

“The extra time that this release has taken has had one huge benefit: the number of new and exciting additions to Mageia is staggering.
