Linux Mint 18 "Sarah" Cinnamon and MATE Editions Officially Released

Today, June 30, 2016, the Linux Mint project, through Clement Lefebvre, has had the great pleasure of announcing the general availability of the Linux Mint 18 “Sarah” operating system.

After being available to download for the past couple of days, the leader of the Ubuntu-based operating system has made the release official, allowing users to download the final Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon and MATE editions from a mirror close to them, or via the project’s torrent links.

The Linux Mint 18 release notes, however, remain unchanged from the Beta build announced earlier this month. Therefore, you probably already know what’s new in the operating system, which was based entirely on the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus), meaning that it will receive security updates for five years, until 2021.
