Firefox-Based Tor Browser 7.0 Officially Released for Anonymous Web Surfing

The Tor Browser Team is pleased to announce today the release and immediate availability of the final, production-ready version of the Tor Browser 7.0 open-source and cross-platform web browser for anonymous Web surfing.

Based on the latest Firefox 52 ESR (Extended Support Release) web browser from Mozilla, Tor Browser 7.0 is a major update that introduces the multiprocess mode (e10s) and content sandbox from Mozilla Firefox, as well as the ability for Linux and macOS users to further harden their Tor Browser setup via Unix Domain sockets when communicating with the Tor anonymous network.
