Exton|OS Light Now Based on Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS, but Powered by Linux Kernel 4.6

GNU/Linux developer Arne Exton has released a new version of his Ubuntu-based Exton|OS operating system, build 160728. The Exton|OS Light edition has been updated and uses the Openbox window manager.

Based on Canonical’s recently released Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS (Xenial Xerus) distribution, Exton|OS Light Build 160728 also borrows various GNU/Linux technologies from the Debian GNU/Linux 9 “Stretch” (Testing) and Debian GNU/Linux Sid (Unstable) software repositories, and employs a kernel from the Linux 4.6 series.

“My special kernel 4.6.0-9-exton is equivalent to kernel.org’s Linux kernel 4.6.4.
