Enlightenment 0.21 Desktop Environment Coming Soon with Better Wayland Support

Enlightenment developer Mike Blumenkrantz announced the availability of the first and probably the last RC (Release Candidate) build for the upcoming Enlightenment 0.21.0 desktop environment.

Enlightenment is a free, open-source and lightweight window manager and desktop environment for GNU/Linux operating system, but it is currently not being used by default on any popular distribution. However, it can be easily installed from the main software repositories of many OSes.

Enlightenment 0.21.0 is the next major version of the open-source desktop environment and it entered development a couple of months ago, around the beginning of April, when the Enlightenment devs have announced the release of the first Alpha build.

One month later, on min-May, the Enlightenment team pushed the Beta version of the upcoming Enlightenment 0.21.0 desktop environment to public beta testers, allowing them to get an early taste of the new features. And now, Enlightenment 0.21.0 is up to… (read more)
