Hello everyone, how are you all doing today? I hope you are all having a great start to this week, I know we all hate Mondays, I sure do and I don’t pretend or hide it lol but today I have a smile on my face because I have finally been able to write up this post regarding some amazing Linux games that most of you will enjoy, read on…

Today we take a look at the best shooting games, action games ever released for Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 23.04 and Ubuntu 20.04. The only thing that I have to remind you is that all of these games will require you to install STEAM which will enable you to download the mentioned games, trust me it’s worth it, just try it before you knock it!

Does Ubuntu Have Fun Action Games?

Yes, seriously, it really has. This isn’t 2009 anymore where we were all forced to use Wine in order to play games, not saying there’s anything wrong with Wine but I don’t think Wine is the solution for gaming on the Linux OS, it just takes way too much to get a game going, it shouldn’t be this hard for someone to play a game on their OS. It’s one of the main reasons why Windows stays dominate against Linux OS’s. Either way, things have changed now thanks to Steam! We can now play some of the most popular and new games on our Ubuntu Os without any trouble, look at my list of the best action games below, download the game and enjoy them.

1. Play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

There is no way in hell I would let any other game be #1 on this spot, even though my co-workers once again thought that we should place another game as #1 but there is no game on any OS that deserves to be #1 ahead of Country-Strike. I personally started playing Counter-Strike back when I was in middle school/high school in the early 2000’s when the game had just hit the market. I was actually one of the best players on the planet with a 3 kills to 1 death ratio, impressive right? Don’t make me blush! Lol, just try this game for your own sake.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) expands upon the team-based action game-play that it pioneered when it was launched 17 years ago. CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). CS:GO features new maps, characters, and weapons. In addition, CS:GO introduces new game-play modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.

2. Play Savage Lands

I just got done trying this game out at my friends house yesterday and I think it’s better than it looks, it is quiet fun and the gameplay is great. What is the Savage Lands game about? Here is the official description: “Exiled from your homeland and marooned on the shores of a strange island, your fight to survive has begun. You must now explore this unknown place to gather the resources and weapons you will need to fend off the ferocious creatures lurking in the shadows of the forest.” – Sounds interesting? I think so, check out the screenshots and I am sure you will be convinced to give it a go, especially if you like these horror type games.

3. Play Dying Light

Dying Light is an action survival game presented in first-person perspective. The game is set in a vast and dangerous open world. During the day, you roam an urban environment devastated by a mysterious epidemic, scavenging for supplies and crafting weapons to help you defeat the hordes of mindless. I haven’t personally tried it but my co-workers have been playing this game at least twice a day for the past month so it must be really good or just really addicting, either way these screenshots look amazing.

Besiege is a physics based building game in which you construct medieval siege engines and lay waste to immense fortresses and peaceful hamlets. Build a machine which can crush windmills, wipe out battalions of brave soldiers and transport valuable resources, defending your creation against cannons, archers and whatever else the desperate enemies have at their disposal. Create a trundling behemoth, or take clumsily to the skies, and cause carnage in fully destructible environments. Ultimately, you must conquer every Kingdom by crippling their castles and killing their men and livestock, in as creative or clinical a manner as possible!

5. Play Verdun

Verdun is the first multiplayer FPS set in a realistic First World War setting. The merciless trench warfare offers a unique battlefield experience, immersing you and your squad into intense battles of attack and defense. The game takes place on the western front between 1914 and 1918, in one of the bloodiest conflicts in world history. The developers were inspired by the infamous Battle of Verdun France in 1916. The game includes many historically accurate features such as realistic WW1 weaponry, authentic uniforms and maps based on the real battlefields of France and Belgium.

The Frontlines game mode is unique in its tactical complexity. The realistic trenches are challenging to fight in and require tactical cunning to capture and defend. The Entente and Central Powers strive to gain control of frontline sectors. One battle you’re rushing the enemy trenches during an offensive battle in order to gain ground. In another battle you might be defending your recently conquered ground against an enemy counter-attack.
