OSMC Linux Media Center Brings Kodi, Debian GNU/Linux 8.5 to Raspberry Pi Zero

A new major update has been released for the OSMC open-source media center GNU/Linux distribution, bringing all the updates from the upstream Debian Stable software repositories.

Raspbmc, now known as OSMC, is a Debian-based operating system that brings the well-known, open-source and cross-platform Kodi media center software to various embedded devices, including the popular Raspberry Pi, as well as devices like the Apple TV and Vero.

OSMC aims to be a good solution for transforming small appliances into in low-cost HTPC (Home Theatre Personal Computer) setups, boasting the unparalleled Kodi experience and borrowing the latest GNU/Linux technologies from the Debian GNU/Linux project.
