Kodi 17 "Krypton" Beta 2 Adds New Android 7.0 Nougat Passthrough Audio API

On September 18, 2016, Martijn Kaijser has had the great pleasure of announcing the release of the second Beta build of the upcoming Kodi 17 “Krypton” open-source and cross-platform media center software.

As expected, Kodi 17 Beta 2 is a bugfix release that addresses many of the issues reported by public beta testers since the previous development milestones. This second Beta version is here exactly one month after the launch of the first Beta, and, according to the release notes, it patches issues from both Beta 1 and Alpha 3 builds.

“The changes between Alpha 3 and Beta 2 are mainly limited to minor fixes and under the hood improvements, so for this second beta, we’ll instead take some time to review a few of the really visible changes in Kodi 17,” says Martijn Kaijser. “Kodi 17 features a huge amount of work in areas like video playback, live TV and PVR/DVR, the music library, skinning and more.”
