GNOME 3.22 Release Candidate Is Out, the Linux Desktop Launches on September 21

Delayed one day, the Release Candidate (RC) build of the forthcoming GNOME 3.22 desktop environment is now available for early adopters and public testers before its final launch next week.

Yes, time flies when you’re having fun developing software projects, and today’s GNOME 3.22 Release Candidate milestone marks the end of the development cycle of the popular desktop environment for Linux-based operating systems, which took approximately six months, since the March 2016 launch of GNOME 3.20.

“Sorry for the short delay; some modules we wanted to wait for arrived a bit late. So here we are, this is the end of this development cycle and here comes the release candidate for you to download, build, and test,” says Javier Jardón. “Enjoy it as fast as you can, the final release is scheduled next Wednesday!”
