Hello everyone, today you can download PlayOnLinux for Ubuntu, before you do that, I hope you are all having a great week so far, I think I am falling sick, slight headache but maybe it’s all in my head, lol pun intended. Well at least tomorrow is Friday, I think am due for a night out to relax, anyway read on…

Today we focus on an awesome app that most of you probably haven’t heard of but should definitely try out. I am talking about PlayOnLinux. I am glad I discovered this app for Ubuntu because I was honestly having a hard time keeping up with Wine and all the damn configuration changes you have to make Windows software work on my Ubuntu laptop. Lets find out if PlayOnLinux is worth all this hype.

What Is PlayOnLinux?

PlayOnLinux is a piece of software which allows you to easily install and use numerous games and apps designed to run with Microsoft Windows.

Few games are compatible with GNU/Linux at the moment and it certainly is a factor preventing the migration to this system. PlayOnLinux brings a cost-free, accessible and efficient solution to this problem.

What are PlayOnLinux’s features?

  • You don’t have to own a Windows license to use PlayOnLinux.
  • PlayOnLinux is based on Wine, and so profits from all its features yet it keeps the user from having to deal with its complexity. (Hallelujah!)
  • PlayOnLinux is free software.
  • PlayOnLinux uses Bash and Python.

Isn’t this awesome? I told you! And to be honest this app is much better than it actually sounds, it’s simply so much easier to get a Windows App or a Windows Game to work on your Ubuntu OS or Linux Mint than ever before. I still have love for Wine but I think PlayOnLinux is the go-to-app if you want port over some Windows apps, check out the screenshots below for further proof.
