GIMP 2.8.18 Open-Source Image Editor Released with Script-Fu Improvements, More

It looks like the awesome development team behind the powerful, free, open-source and cross-platform GIMP image editor software has been working hard to prepare new features and improve existing ones in the widely used GNU application.

GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is currently used in dozens of Linux kernel-based operating systems by default, and it has proved over the years to be the perfect tool for all sorts of photo retouching and manipulation operations.

While the next major version, GIMP 2.10, is currently in the works, with the GIMP 2.9.4 development snapshot out the door a couple of days ago, the development team is pleased to release today an update to the current stable series, GIMP 2.8.
