More than two months after the release of the major Audacious 3.8 open-source and cross-platform music player software for GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows operating system, the first maintenance update arrives on December 6, 2016.
But don’t get to excited, because Audacious 3.8.1 is a small point release that fixes a handful of issues and annoyances reported by users since Audacious 3.8, such as random freezes while playing audio tracks or the duplication of the ‘Do not load metadata for songs until played’ option in the Preferences dialog of the Qt interface.
There’s also a fix for a problem with the current time value, which could have become larger than the track length when attempting to drag the progress bar beyond the end of the trough.
